  • F250 oil contamination

A buddy has a 2007 f 250 on his saltwater boat. Over the weekend he ran across a sand bar to avoid a collision, he was not stuck on it but afterwards he had no telltale. The overheat alarm never sounded or went into guardian mode engine ran fine, then he noticed milky oil running out from front of cowl.
After inspecting the engine he found oil out the top of the engine (breather I assume), when he got back to port he tried flushing the engine.
He promply changed the oil and filter to get the saltwater out of the engine.
What would suddenly cause this ?
    Thanks Scott

If the engine suddenly shut off it may have blown oil fom crankcase vent or if oil level was overfull. The oil may have mixed with some water in engine cowling. Did he find water in oil when drained oil?
