  • Overheating/oil alarm

    Hi all,

I just purchased two used t50's (t50tlry) And coming from Johnson/evinrudes I was curious to know how the alarm system works... If the motors overheat or oil pressure drops, will an Alarm sound or just the light on the MF Tach will go on?

    Thanks for the help.

depends on if it was rigged correctly.
if correctly rigged then yes either an overheat or a loss of oil pressure will trigger an audible alarm,RPM reduction and a visual indicate.

Where is the audible alarm located? When I had the johnsons the alarm was located in the control box...

Also, is there a way to test the alarm, such as grounding the temp sensor wire, etc.?

      Thanks a lot
