  • 2004 Yamaha V Max 225 ox66 won't idle

My 2 stroke 225 will not idle below 850 rpm. [I]t will sneeze and die. It runs great up from there. no water in glass bowl, red ring not floating at all. VST pressure on high side is 36 psi. Pulled low pressure pumps and pumped primer bulb to check for ruptured diaphragms (no leaks back into crankcase), all good. No performace issues off idle. All of this came on when I pulled the boat out for the first time this spring. I have winky blinky light on order, but Back Ordered on a slow boat from the old country. It seems like ethanol issues would show up when I get on it WOT. It is like a switch: 850 rpm OK, 840 rpm sneeze and die.

Rodbolt any thoughts or experience with this?

sneezing means the A/F ratio in the intake/crankcase is lean.
