  • 2004 Yamaha 150, problem w/ temp/light

    LED Light above the temp icon is blinking...the motor has a strong discharge stream....never shut down when running.....and the light came on again immediately after letting it sit for90 minutes...Boat runs fine and only has 40 hrs on it........is it a wire? sending unit? t-stat? and what does yamaha refer to these parts as??please help thanks.

    Start with checking engine temp to see if is overheating.

      the light is on whenever the key is in the on position......the thermo switches on top of block seem ok .... I think i have ruled out the tstats, the thermosensor assembly onthe botom of block could be it but im not sure...otherwise the boat runs perfect thanks

        double check the dip switch settings on the tach.

          the dip switches are located on the back side of the tach, correct???

            yes, under a rubber plug.
            sw1 on,sw2off,sw3off on a 2004 two stroke 150.

              took the tach off, removed the rubber disc on back and thereare no dip switches.....this light is a pain in my ass...how about a piece of black tape over it unless you guys have any other suggestions..
