Multifunction Gauge fuel reading

Hi I have just installed a replacement multifunction speedo and fuel gauge. When I connect the clear fuel pipe at the rear there is no reading on the display to tell me how much fuel I have. it is flashing constantly at 1 bar. Should this clear pipe be empty, just air in it or fuel in it. I have sucked at it and got some sea water out of it. Also the gauge is not keeping the time correct when I switch the ignition off, it keeps going back to 1.00pm.

the clear tubing is water pressure for speed indicate.
the red wire must be connected for the memory function to work.
if power is lost at the red wire the system resets.
