92 30hp 2 stroke not pumping water but has a good impeller

I have recently aquired a 92 2 stroke yamaha 3cylinder 30hp. I've been going through it and i'm finding a bunch of little things. My latest problem is that it won't pump water. The impeller is in great shape, the thermostat works. I've tested it with muffs and in a barrel. I pulled the thermostat and left it open to see if water was flowing. All i get out of the tell tale is hot air and a little smoke. The thermostat area is corroded with white stuff. The inner water pump has a little white corrosion as well. I'm worried there is a blockage somewhere. Is there anything else i can do. I sprayed water up the tube where the water pump pumps the water and i get water coming out of the thermostat housing. What should i try next? Compression is at 107, 105, 105. Please help.

I'm an idiot. I had the wash plug on the leg open and the pump was drawing air, not water. Working well now.
