    2008 F150. Black fuel strainer
I had my yamaha f150 fuel system served last fall at the dealer , to help solve a idle stalling problem, we I went to launch it this weekend, I noticed that the fuel strainer was all nasty looking, like a browning black look, I tried to take it off but do not have the right tool. Called the dealer and they said they had cleaned it, but ethanol made it look like that. I all so have a 98 40 hp, that looks fine. Any thought, at first the owner of the dealership, said he would send me a new strainer, because they are a hour away, then said it was serviced, he also let it slip out the new part was $250,
I wonder what to believe .

Maybe your gas tank has old contaminated fuel in it? Maybe you need a water/fuel separator? Maybe you need to start adding Stabil to your gas tank?...Good Luck!

        nope the fuel sourered.
        it happens even with stabil.
I love the govmt marine tech stimulous program.
last fall means its at least 7-8 months old now.
