alarm going off 85 hp yamaha

Good morning...I have a 1992 85 hp yamaha that the alarm keeps going off. I replaced the water pump 2 summers ago and last year the alarm would go off either at a low idle or going 40 rpm for about 10 minutes. when you slow down the alarm with stay on for a couple minutes than just go off. Love an idea on what to check out first.

waterpumps need to be replaced every 2 years, i do mine every year......while youre at it, replace the housing, stats and PRV parts...then repost your results

I was going to clean the head and the water jackets before I replaced the water pump again. That is if I can figure out how to do it.
