  • 1999 Motor Hesitation

I have a 1999 Yamaha F100 TLRX with approx. 1093 hrs on it--and has run flawlessly. I am experiencing hesitation between 2,000-2,400 RPMs when accelerating, only. The motor is mainly used for *****ing on Lake Champlain (fresh water). The motor *****s and runs perfectly otherwise.

I was wondering how much combustion engine cleaner should i use in the carburetors? Full can? And could I drill holes in the air intake for each carburetor so that i could fog the motor and clean the engine more efficiently without having to remove the air intake, knowing that the holes would have to be covered when running. Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Probably need to have a compression and leak down test run on it.
Yes use the whole can of cleaner on it and change the engine oil afterwards.

      Thanks

I did go ahead and use about a half of can of combustion cleaner and afterwards added Yamaha ring cleaner to the fuel plus cleaned the plugs, this has seemed to take care of all hesitation, and engine seems smooth agine. Do you think I should do a compression check? thanks whitecap
