'99 F100 Fuel Issue

Any specific advice for cleaning the carbs, other than make sure I put em back together the same way they came apart? I have cleaned quite a few 2 stroke carbs back in my snowmobiling days.

Take apart and soak in carb cleaner and clean jets manually?

Ultrasonic cleaner? I have access to a small one. (jewelry size - could fit maybe 2 carbs at a time).

carbs are not difficult, time consuming but not difficult.
I do them 1 at a time on the bench.
you will have to remove them in pairs.

Thanks. Weather looks crummy for the weekend, so I guess they will make a good project.

I can get by without the carb rebuild kits as long as I'm careful, right?

time for a carb job and check the fuel pump diaphram.

I checked the diaphragms of the fuel pumps, and there were some deposits in the bottom of each pump, and also deposits stuck to the mating surface of the diaphragm. I cleaned the deposits out of each pump, but will have to order the diaphragms.

This would not be enough to cause my problem would it?

Am i wrong to assume that if I have deposits in my fuel pumps, that I also have them in my carbs?

I would think so, as that is were it goes when it leaves the pump
