  • alternator and carb question

for my 9.9hp 4-stroke Yamaha, what kind of amperage
output can I expect for various throtle settings
like idle, quarter, half? I believe this engine has
a 10 or 15 amp max output. At what throtle will the
    alternator approach it's maximum output?

To keep the carborator jets unclogged, what is recommended? I have heard the use of Stabil in the
gas, and running the engine at least once every two
    weeks, or so.

The F9.9 has an 6 amp alternator and thats 6 amps at wide open throttle. If the engine is not going to be run for several weeks then use the fuel stabilizer in gas to keep gas from going bad.

Opps! Discovered today that I had improperly wired the Yamaha to my ammeter. As soon as I hooked in the ammeter to the charging circuit, everything showed properly. By the way, I think my T9.9 has a
15 amp generator, and that was verified when I read
values even slightly above 15 amps at higher engine
      rpms.

I added SeaFoam to my gas tanks. If this gas was bought a month ago, am I still protected?

        sherwin,
One month old fuel should still be ok - try to add some fresh to the old if you can. Seafoam advertises that it will "stabilize and dry" fuel, but I don't think it will restore lost vapor pressure.
        Good luck,
