99 F100 lower h20 pump housing re-installation question??

Hi guys,

I am replacing the entire water pump on my '99 F100 TLRX, including the lower housing and oil seals.

My question is: Do I need to add oil to the bearing before putting the lower housing and oil seals back on? When I removed them some oil spilled out, but I'm not sure if this oil is particular to the top end of the bearing, or if it is just lower unit oil coming through the bearing from the lower unit.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

apply a water resistant grease, not lithium, between the seal lips.
install everything and refill the unit with oil.
