When I ran my boat at the end of last season it would run smooth but loose power sporadically (surge). I have a hunch it is connected to the gas being stale, but I'm guessing that because some of it is over a year and a half old. I added stabilizer to it during the season so I'm not positive. I've tried to siphon it out but can get a hose to work. I don't know if there is some sort of anti siphon gizmo in the tank. The boat is a 2000 Cobia 18' center console. any have any ideas for me about this. I know this could be more serious then gas but initially I'd like to hear from anyone who has ideas about getting the gas out or if they have knowledge about regular problems with stale fuel. Let me know if you think I'm "Sniffing at the wrong Pipe! so to speak.

adding stabilizer to old fuel is simply a waste of money.
yes most boats have an anti siphon valve at the tank draw tube.
    use a pump.
    pump your tank.
remove the , VST, clean it, remove the injectors, clean the screens.
    try again.
