  • F225 Oil sump plug thread reapair

The thread in the oil sump plug has been stripped M14 and Iwas going to use M16 tap and a 14.5mm drill to repair it .I was going to pack it with thick grease to catch the swarf .Does anyone see any issues with this or have any tips would be most welcome .

    why not simply heli-coil it?
its also kinda dumb to ever remove that plug, simply suck the oil out the dip stick tube like its designed for.
trust me, heli-coils are your friend.

      Helicoil

Have you know anyone to use a helicoil ? I was a bit worried about the seal and the TAG of the helicoil .

i use them quite a lot, typically when customers strip the threads.
myself i never remove the drain plug when changing oil.
i suck it out the dipstick like its designed.\
quicker, easier and you cant strip the threads.
