  • service 2002 yamaha 2 stroke

hi I have recently serviced my 2002 yam 30hp stroke autolube Dhmo. This consisted of fuel filter, gearbox oil, plugs x 3, impeller.
the outboard is very clean and has had little use. My friend suggested I should check the fuel diaphragm and points. Does it have points and where are these items? is it an easy job?

    thanks Mike

No points on these CDI motors,

you could test the fuel pressure and vacuum to make sure the fuel supply system is OK, or replace/ rebuild the pump and lines.

And pull, clean, and test the thermostat to make sure it is working properly or just replace it with a new one.

Clean and test the oil system and make sure the alarms system is functioning properly for oil and tempature

where is the thermostat? is that easy?

      thanks again. Mike

Sounds like you need to get your hands on a Yamaha service manual for your motor so you can work on it properly.
That or do lots of searching on the net and reading lots of posts on different forums
