I just bought a boat with a 1993 200Hp Yamaha on it and I'm new to the boating ****. The motor is very clean and runs good the compression is bettwen 120 and 130 is this ok? What was the original compression on this motor from factory? What should I look for as far as problems / maintenance issues are concerned?????????????

great motor, great compression. You need to maintain your motor and take care of it and it will last you a long time. do not run out of oil, do not run hot, test alarms yearly, replace all fuel filters yearly, change gear oil yearly and water pump impeller every 2 years. never run it if somethings not right, fix it.
    keep carbs clean.
three biggest reasons for outboard failure
1 = overheated and alarm was not working
2= clogged carb or other reason for a lean cylinder(s)
3= no oil, either forgot to premix or oil alarms not working and pump failed or ran out of oil.
