  • lift rings on F25

My brand new F25 is too heavy for me to lift (170#) and I am not sure if what seems to be lift rings are what they seem. There is one forward of the flywheel on the starboard side and one near the back on the port side. They are flat 1/8 inch thick (probably galvanized) and have holes about one inch in diameter. I can't see any other use for these so am guessing they are lift rings. I would like to be sure though. Any help appreciated.

Well, the reason I asked was that I called tech support at Yamaha and they told me that there were no lift rings on the F25. Imagine my surprise when I found those two and figured I must be looking at something else.

        oooooooo k
next time ya call tech support ask them how many years field experience they have.
ask them how many new outboards they ever rigged.
then look up the parts diagram for an F25 seha.
look at cyl crankcase 1 the 2.
on cyl crankcase 1 look at ref 13
on cyl crankcase 2 look at reference 22.
        get muh drift .
the older units had a strap at the rear of the block, the newer models use ref 22 and 13 called, wait, wait?
        engine hanger.

Naturally the owners manual did not mention them.
Now the only question I still have is, why aren't you my next door neighbor?
