  • 2000 Yamaha vx225 should I replace o2 sensor

    I have a 2000 Yamaha ox66 VX225
I Purchesed this Triton boat last year and got no Maintenance Info on the
motor. It runs a little ruff at low RPMS and smokes a little more at then my
old 87 yamaha 150 ..I replaced the 3 low pressure pumps, Plugs and cleaned
the O2 sensor fuel filters ect. it seemed to help.. My Questionis is should
I replace the O2 sensor as preventive mintenance just because the motor is
10 years old I belive in keeping Maintenance up but not over kill

no need to replace as long as it tests out within specs

Replace your thermostats, make sure your battery is up to spec.
I don't advise changing an O2 sensor as a PM.

How did you clean your O2 sensor?

not so much concerned about how you cleaned it.
WAY more concerned about HOW you tested the O2 sensor output voltage AFTER cleaning.
they dont fail often and they are rather pricey from yamaha.
also CAREFULLY check the oil pump control arm adjustment.
