    If you are getting water in the separator/filter it sounds like you have water in the tank and need to drain it and clean it out. Also need to find out how it is getting in.
    If it is the ethanol fuel that is separating you need to dump the fuel clean the tank and start out fresh.

    Yamaha service manual is the only info I can give on what you need and it is not set up for people that have not done much work on motors

      Check your tank fill cap. Could be bad o-ring or gasket letting rain water in.

          Rodbolt... Found out the problem was the throttle linkage was disconnected. Go figure...yama8454

            Not sure how a motor could run much above idle if the linkage was disconnected and that is not what you were saying

              99yam49....linkage was partially disconnected and slightly engaging enuf to go 4000rpm
