unbolted trim tab on lower unit as i am removing lower unit to change out water pump. the trim tab is corroding away. should it be changed out and why.the boat is never slipped.6K1-45371-02-00 TRIM-TAB
while popularly called a trim tab its actually a sacraficial anode.
its SUPPOSED to corrode to protect the aluminimum castings.
if its corroded then its possible its time to replace it.
