  • oil continues to flow

I have a 115txra yamaha outboard that continues to pump or cipher oil mix to motor with ignition off. Have to cut oil off with manual valve.

    what????
is the transfer pump not turning off??
is it filling a cylinder with oil while draining the engine oil tank?
your post really doesnt describe much more than something is wrong.
need some details on what is happening and when.

      continueous oil flow

yes it is filling cylinders with oil and is draining both large and small reserve tanks.Could it be one of the oil level guage assy's? And how would you check them with a ohm meter? IT does okay when engine is running. Not sure if transfer pump is running continious or not. Must cut off manually to keep oil out of cylinder.

the V4 used an oil control module. the original had a mercury switch to prevent transfer whith the engine tilted.
we did see that if battery voltage to the module dropped below about 9V the transfer pump would turn on.
its also possible the engine oil tank switch is not sending a transfer pump off command.
but first you gotta listen and see if the transfer pump in the remote tank is running or not.

is the remote tank mounted higher than the engine??
