  • 1988 Yamaha 30 ELG spark plug gap.

Hello everyone. I recently purchased a 1988 Boston Whaler with the original 30 elg motor on it. It is in excellent condition. I just checked the compression and all three cylinders are around 133( I'm really happy about that). I'm trying to find the Service and or owners manual for the 1988 30 ELG. Right now I really need the proper spark plug gap. Trying to find info on this motor has been challenging. The only website that actually lists it is crowleymarine.com. Any leads on the manuals and the spark plug are appreciated. Thanks, Chris

I'd get the specified NGK plug for your motor and gap it about .036". Just for eyeball purposes, the center electrode should be just about perpendicular(90 degrees) to the ground electrode. Plug gaps probably plus or minus .003 or .004" anyway.
    Good Luck!
