  • Broken ****erfly nut on Trim/Tilt

AARRGH! My trim was slowly dropping down and I used a pair of pliers to tighten the ****erfly nut on my pair of 60 FETO's (Duh! should have turned anti-clockwise anyway!)But my problem now is that the nut has sheared off.Is it easy enough to replace or maybe just put a small bar through remaining thread which is visible?:

Not sure which nut you are referring to, if it's the manual release screw then it has a snap ring to prevent it from unscrewing all the way out, remove the snap ring and if still enough of old screw to get a hold on unscrew it.

Thanks,Yes it is the Manual release screw, which on my engines protrudes through the hole in the transom bracket and has a lock nut and b*tterfly nut on the end for use with fingers. As I understand it I have to take the complete hydraulic unit off to remove the M.R.Screw! Is this correct?
