I put a gasoline additive into the tank and a few minutes later the 1986 40elj stalled and wouldn't restart. I've now hooked up a tank of fresh gas, cleaned the fuel filter and blown out all the fuel lines, and changed the spark plugs--it still won't start. It cranks fine, but doesn't catch at all. What can I do to find or fix the problem?

You will probably have to clean carbs.

      jerry,
This has nothing to do with the fuel additive -if the motor is not firing at all, check the ignition kill switch - pull the lanyard and reset it.
      Good luck,

you say it turns over but lil more importantly, is it firing....you say it was running then after the additive, it stopped, i would have to say its something in the fuel system. what was the additive as it may have eaten your pump diaphragms.also, drain your carbs.
