  • tilt end cap dust shield which way does it go in

Changing the post sorry I put the dust in only way it would go. How about cap oring gasket. The new unit is like 4 times fatter and quickly cap got real tight. I stopped and thought I better double check my part numbers. Are the cap orings usually thinner like what I took off? I can reinstall what was already in there I guess. I might have figured this one out Part I ordered 6H1-43861-10-00 Looks like I should have got 6h1-43861-00-00 hummm. Yes the 10 makes all the difference in thickness.

the cap and piston orings look quite similar, but they are different.
you are replacing the piston oring and backup ring?
if not the trim cap leaks again.
why not simply buy the correct parts, use the diagram to identify which goes where and install it there.
the service manual doesnt list parts only where parts go.
the open end of the dust seal faces away from the cap.
hydraulics are one place that close simply wont work.
