  • 25 2 stroke manual start problems

I own a 25HP 2 stroke manual start that has frequently been hard to start. It is either starved for fuel or becomes flooded after priming the bulb. Following several sub-freezing days, the motor will now start but seems to idle poorly on one cylindar then dies. Opening the throttle feeds no fuel to the carbs while it is running. Inspecting the carburators, it appears that fuel is only getting into the lower carb (gas spilling out below choke plate). Question: does this suggest a bad fuel pump or leaking diaphram behind same? Given the hard starting problems, has the fuel pump been defective for some time and now is failing completely?

Previously, the hard starting problems were only associated with the first start of the day. Once operating and running, the motor starts with one pull the rest of a trip. But now this new problem.

Sounds like there is trash in carbs and the floats are not doing there thing ,pull and clean carbs
