  • Tilt selenoid

1996 75hp 2 stroke yamaha I have no problem at all when tilting the motor up, but when I tilt down it will stop ever now and then and I have to release the switch and re-apply it, at times it will take 2 or 3 times of doing this to get the engine where I want it. Do you think a bad selenoid or something else more or less severe. Thank you Ozarker

could be the switch, connector, wire, relay, or motor. You will have to see what/where it is loosing power to be sure.
While it is happening, test with a volt meter. I would start at the relay/solinoid to see if it was loosing 12v control to it and if it is passing power through to motor, also make sure the ground is not going away. It runs through the relays also
