  • 200 ox66 rpm

I have twin OX66 200's, I had the Starboard motor stop while at the dock. The low pressure pump's were not getting fuel. After replaceing the 10micron spin on filter the motor started fine. However while running the next trip out at around 3300 rpm the Starboard motor would pick up 500 to 700 rpm and then return to normal. The boat does not pick up any speed when this happens thus if "feels ,seems" as if it is prop slip. Any help would be great.

Check the fuel pressures while it is having the problem to see if it is dropping due to plugged filters on motor

Thanks, what pressure should I see and where can you get the guage?

the guage can be purchased,or rented, at most any auto parts store.
the pressue MUST remain between 33 and 38 PSI at ALL rpm's and loads.
much above 38 PSI it runs rich, below about 33 PSI it runs lean.

Thanks, Rodbolt. I have looked all over and i seem to be the only one in which the rpm's will race high not lower. My only thoughs were leaning out or prop hub slip. all filter issues seem to lead to rpm drops.

            sounds like fuel to me.
typically if the hub ever slips its simply done.
my F150 spun one this past summer cruising along at 3900 RPM in 12ft of water.
wham. out of the blue it was done and the next 4 miles were done at 900 RPM.
