    8HP-(2008) 2 Stroke-Pee Hole ?

I last used engine last spring. Started engine to perform winter storage. No water from pee hole.

Used small drill rod to clean out tube ( really didn’t find any blockage). I increased water flow to muff and now water flows OK while engine is running. (Maybe the water flow to the muff was not high enough initially- or the thermo wasn’t passing water-or some other blockage ) ???

Question: The distance that a cleaning rod can go in is only about an inch or inch and ¾.
So I’m assuming there is a flat plate above the tube and the water comes in at an angle.

What can be used to keep this passage way clear? “Search “ didn’t reveal any answers.

Seems like a complicated design for simple water flow indication.

    Thanks for any comments.

Try using something more flexable like weedeater line.

Excellent Idea---I didn't think of that.

I tried your suggestion but same result about 1-1 3/4 inches. I hooked up a small hose to the fitting and by blowing into it(mouth), I can hear air escaping out of the water intake.

I believe all is clear-But won't know until boat and engine are back in the water in the spring.

      Thanks !!!
