You read every year, every other year, and so on. Guess it all depends on how you use your boat and how much risk you're willing to accept regarding a failed impeller and an overheated motor. I'm getting ready to change my impeller now and it's been about 5 years since it was last done. I understand the rubber can dry rot, crack, break, whatever. Trailer tires are a similar thing, I've decided to replace mine every 3 years, but that was after I had a couple seperate and blowout on the interstate! This time I'm changing my own impeller and the parts are about $40, so that makes it easier to decide to change it more often...Just think it over and decide. Good Luck!
