  • Yamaha 50hp problem

I have a 1986 Yamaha 50hp 2-stroke (oil injected), which has been a good motor thus far. This morning when I started the motor there was what I thought was an oil alarm buzzing. However, the motor was still burning blue smoke and the oil level was decreasing, so it seems to be getting oil alright. The motor ran fine at low rpms but when I picked it up it sounded rough and like it was misfiring. Went back to the dock, and checked but it doesn't seem to be misfiring. I'm thinking maybe a clogged fuel line and/or filter? Any suggestions to troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated.

If it is low on oil or overheats it signals the alarm the buzzer sounds ans the engine will not go over 2000 RPM'S. You need to get the alarm system checked out it sounds like it is in RPM reduction mode
