  • New Tach, Trim No Show, Oil No Go.

Bought a new tach for my 1991 200TXRP.
    The tach is a model # 10-6Y5-83500-29-00.
Set all three dip switches to "off", as per blue card, (3 lead sender,
12 pole alternator, and 2 stroke engine).
My problem is I can't get the Trim angle set.
Out of the box the tach is showing all bars black, with top bar blinking.
Can't seem to sync the motor with the tach.
The trim sender on the motor is new too.
Put the motor all the way down, and tried to set the trim on
the gauge to match, but it won't go into setup mode.
Pressed the mode button, but all I get is the trip clock.
I am baffled by this simple gauge.

Check the wiring harness between trim sender and tach may open an open wire.

Do you mean the main engine harness
      under the engine cover?

Yes, the main engine wire harness was bad.
I changed it and the tach showed engine trim and
also started to transfer oil again from the remote tank.
