  • Winter Storage

Last spring i bought a new Yamaha 15hp 4 stroke with electric start and power trim. I just had it professionally winterized by my local Yamaha dealer. Now i am trying to decide where to store the motor for the winter, indoors or outdoors? I live in New Hampshire so the winters get pretty cold. Any advise?

If you follow the stick instructions at themain part of the forum (link below) for how to winterize your outboard you will be fine. I live in Canada and it works for me.

As far as indoor vs outdoor storage goes, obviously indoor is better but if you have to store it outdoors then your outboard will be fine if you follow the proper winterizing procedures and make sure all water is drained. Since it was done by the Yamaha dealer it should be ok.

Of course with a motor that size it is more or less portable so surely you can find a spot in your basement to put it to bed for the winter.
