  • 130hp limp mode

I have a 2000 model 130hp saltwater series on 17foot half cab. Starts easy when cold with choke but then can sometimes need choke and some revs to start once warm. not sure why. Will run all day a 3/4 throttle without any issues but hold it at WOT about 45kt for about a couple of minutes and alarm sounds and it goes into limp mode. Turn engine off for about a minute and then it runs fine again. Any suggestions on why it would do this? Temp seems good telltale has good pressure and both oil tanks seem to be right.

Sounds like it needs new water pump.

Seems to have a a pretty good stream of water coming out at idle and at speed it looks to have quite a good amount of pressure

Run it with the cowling off and see if the motor mounted oil tank is going low while at WOT causing your problem.
Could be that the inline oil filter in remote tank is plugging and can not keep up with the flow at WOT
