60 hp tlrb 2003

have a carb problem, was told at cabelas repair shop carbs need to be rebuilt. #4 is main carb problen not fireing cleanly plug fowling out at 3000 rpm. don't want to rebuild every 3 or 4 years would it be more cost effective to upgrade to efi? cabelas wants $1000.00 to rebuild guess they arn't doing it. I found carb kits for 99.00 ea. cabelas wants 135.00 ea. + labor can u even get a conversion kit?

No Yamaha doesn't offer any EFI conversion kits.

If you think carbs are bad wait till you have a EFI motor and see what all happens to it with the fuels we get today.
Read your owners manual and see how often they say to service the carbs and then compare what needs to be done and how often on a EFI.
I have a feeling you are not doing what Yamaha recommends.

Keep clean, fresh, stabilized fuel in the tank. install a 10 micron fuel/water separator in line to motor, and change it often and run motor often.
Pick up a service manual for your motor read up on it and see if you can do the work yourself or take to a good Yamaha shop to clean carbs
