  • overheating on muffs

I finally got my boat done today, but when i went to run the motor on the muffs, the over heat alarms went off. if me and my buddy held the muffs tight against the motor then the the tail would start working. The motor has 63 hours on it now im worried that i might of screwed up the water pump.
is there anyway to run your motor on muffs? how can you tell if the water pump is starting to go?

    thanks

Better to run them in water, V6 engines will overheat on muffs and muffs don't fit smaller motor gearcases tight enough to supply enough water, muffs have to fit as tight as possible and watched constantly.

you can buy a collasable bucket that will fit over or get a blue plastic drum and cut in half and use that
