  • 1986 70 Yamaha - Primer Bulb Flat

Had some work done over the winter including the fuel lines being replaced to the boat fuel tank. Engine dies after a few minutes, at around 4500rpms and bulb is flat. After bulb is pumped for a long period of time or continuously pumped while riding at lower rpms of 3500 will run. Changed the line and bulb back to old one and doesn't help. Tried a portable tank and still having issue. Hearing conflicting information that it could be fuel pump? Is there somewhere past the fuel inlet to the fuel pump that could be blocked or have an air leak causing the issue? If the boat is rocked back and forth while at 4000RPMs seems to help with fuel. Help!!!

If the primer bulb is sucking flat then there is a fuel restriction between bulb and pickup in gas tank.
