8.0 HP 4 stoke engine oil

I know dealers warn buyers on the smaller 4 stroke engines if you lay the motor on its side the crank case oil can leak out into the cylinders and carberator. I have a 2008 8.0 hp for 2 years now which I can tilt up on the transom and tilt it either direction with no oil leakage, I just purchased a 2003 8.0 hp which had oil in the carberator and both cylinders the motor was laying on its side for a while. Does anyone know if Yamaha has changed seals or gaskets on the 8.0 hp motors between 2003 and 2008 to reduce this occurance or issue?? I have hard time imagining selling a ne wmotor which can not be tilted up?? Maybe it has a bed seal?

You may have some leaking valve stem seals on that motor.
