Test prop? I have recently bought a workshop manual in order to service my motor. The manual states one must fit a "test prop" before setting the timing. What is the purpose of a test prop? As I don't have a test prop can I still set the timing (with boat out the water) if I remove the existing prop and run the motor using a muff in order to circulate water? Look forward to your reply.

Not familiar with that model motor and not sure if timing is adjustable or not. The test prop is to be able to run engine under a load at full throttle.
