  • Stalling out

I have twin 2002 Yamaha 115 4 strokes (EFI) and I have been having a problem with my starboard engine stalling out at idle and shifting from neutral into gear. It doesn't do it all of the time, but maybe 10% of the time. The starboard engine also idles 100 rpm lower than the port. At the top end the starboard engine is also 200 or so rpm less than the port engine. Fuel filter is fresh and I don't see any problems with fuel restriction. Also, the starboard engine takes a little longer to turn over at start up even after it has been running. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Need to have idle control valve and idle speed checked to see if working or set properly. Only off 200 rpm's WOT could be inaccurate tach or worn props.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking the same for the problem at idle, but the WOT difference in rpm was throwing me off. I'll check the idle control valve and see what happens.
