  • Ignition Buzzer

I have an alarm that comes on as soon as the ignition is turned on. No lights on the gauges. 1989 Yamaha 150 (150ETXF).

    Any ideas?

Could be bad temp sensors, bad oil level sensor in engine oil tank or shorted wires on engine or in main harness going to key switch.

As far as I know that is normal. My 89s have always done that. Annoying but as soon as you crank it goes away. I guess it just shows you the alarm/buzzer is working so if there is a problem with temp or oil it will go off. Or if a motor stalls.

I always wanted to bypass it somehow but still have the alarm/buzzer work if there was a problem.
