Power trim and tilt need help

Trying to help out a friend just purchased 88 criss craft with 2 v-x25ohp one a 1992 the other 1995 saltwater series. When he picked the boat both trims were working brought the boat home and now cant get the trims to work I fixed a couple of grounds at the batteries trying to fix problem. When i hit the trim switch up on one engine the relay clicks if I hot the trim down on the other engine the relay clicks but no movement on either.....if anyone can point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Check to see if have 12 volts at red wire on trim switch, check for 12 volts at each trim wire at switch when switch is pressed, then check voltage at relay, coming from switch and going out to trim motor.
