  • Digital gauges tach speedometer

I replaced my digital tach and speedometer gauges with new ones because of the LCD display. I have a 97 115 outboard. Everything appears to work with both except the following.
    TACH
When the key is turned the tach powers on ok but the oil warning indicators are all light. The lrg oil tank is full and the gauge should only light on full not all three.
SW 2 = Generator type (6 pole or 12 pole) not sure if this should be set to 6 or 12. I tried both but did not make a diff.
    SPEEDOMETER
When the key is turned on the fuel gauge only lights the last fuel segment at the bottom of the gauge. There is about a half tank gas but does not read that.
There are no bells our warnings and the rest of the functions seem to work ok.

Make sure tach is set for 2 stroke and the alternator is 12 pole and the trim sender is 3 wire on a 1997 engine. The fuel gauge gets it's signal from fuel sender in gas tank, if not reading right it's probably the sender.
