hi guys ,i have had a few problems with my outboard it will run fine for as long as i want it to run when i can get it to start that is. then when i stop the engine the outboard has problems restarting very hit and miss ,after running it in a tank for over a month trying 3 cdi units, i noticed the oil to be creamy so i changed the head gasket ,after that i started it up again running well for 2 mins then i had few little backfires from the carb and the engine spluttering so i stoped it and the same problem again ,hard to start it again , could this be fuel problems ? or the coils ? i have been told the coils by a friend hope someone could help me

Sounds like a choke problem, did you check diaphram in primer when had carb off.
