  • Yamaha LCD marine Meter Tach Color code diagram

Hello!, I Have a Yami 200hp 2 strokes 1994 and I'm replacing the Tach, however the color from the one that I bought p/n 6YE-83500-00-00 are diferent from the other under dash... anybody can breakdown the color code from this Tach?
Beside of the knob that shows the number for alternator pole from motor I have 2 plugs rounded with 3 wires each and 2 separates wires

    1st plug (Guessing trim sender)
    Black/ orange stripe
    Brown/Yellow stripe
    Brown/White Stripe

    2nd plug (Main)
    Green/Brown Stripe
    Black/ Red Stripe
    Yellow / Blue Stripe

And then the 2 separate wires (Grey solid and purple solid)

    Any body??? THANKS!!!!

6YE-83500-00-00 is a tach for Yamaha stern drives, for your outboard you would need part number 6Y5-8350T-82-00 Multifunction digital tach and it should plug into same harness that old tach was connected to.

      Wrong P/N

Whooooao!!! I didn't even know that YAMAHA has Stern Drives.... so dumb.. sorry... But in any case cause I already bought the otherone (Stern drive) there is no way that we can connect that old model (stern) to the Outbourd one...? and the part number that you sent me looks a lot newer... taking underconsideration that I bought the wrong one because of similarity (Identicall) to the old one that I'm trying to replace...
Any Idea that you can recommend so I can save so $$ ??

And Thanks a LOT for you HELP!

Yamaha only made the stern drives for a few years in the 90"s. I'm not that familiar with stern drives and not sure if the tachs used alternator signal for rpm's like outboards do so not sure if tach can be made to work or not.

Start a new post. Fully describe the problem. Where you are and where do you want to go? Provide the complete model identity of your motor. Complete serial number would be better.

Each person should start his own new thread. Looks like it is your turn.

It's probably hidden away on some microfiche never to be seen again anyways.
