Mid 90's yamaha 70 hp 2 stroke fuel issue

I have a 90's yamaha 2 stroke (70hp) and it seems that at high rpm (under heavy load) that the engine is being starved of fuel. Once brought back down to cruise rpm everything seems normal but i think perhaps there may be an issue with the fuel filter. Any thoughts?

May need to replace fuel lines, fuel filters, check pickup in gas tank to make sure getting enough fuel to engine.
