    Hey Guys,

I have a 98 Yahama 90 HP motor (jet drive).

I do not understand the choke. The motor will not start by using the choke on the key. It will start immediately if choked manually and will start instantly for the rest of the day.

Kind of embaressing at the ramp to have to pull off the cowling everytime.

    Help appreciated,

    TarponChaser

Need to remove carb and clean, check diaphram on choke primer and all passages are clean and test primer solenoid. When starting it cold trim motor down all the way, pump up fuel primer bulb firm, don't give it any throttle(start at idle position), try to start if doesn't start right up then reprime fuel bulb and try again, should start.
    Regards

Had a VMAX 150 that did the same thing. The solenoid on the choke was stuck and would not actuate with the key. A little lubrication on the linkage and the solenoid shaft cured the problem........
