  • Idles great until warmed up

I have a 2007 150TXR (carb model). My engine idles and runs great, until it warms up. Once it warms up, placed in neutral, and idling the rpm's drop to 400-500 and usually dies. After I re-start it runs fine still with low rpm. While running it appears to run just fine. It does appear to have a slower hole shot than usual. Any Suggestions?

I did clean the engine strainer, replaced the fuel water sperator, and checked my gas for excessive ethanol (about 5%).

    Thanks,

Time to clean the carbs, sounds like pilot jet/passages have some plugging

What would be the best method for doing this?

It idles good cold because the enrichening system is on, so when it warms up, motor is running lean. Need to have carbs cleaned, install fuel/water separator, use Stabil Marine all the time. You might do carb cleaning or have your boat shop do it for maybe $150. Good Luck!
