  • Yamaha 40 Jet Drive

Hey ya'll new to the site, I did a search but couldn't find my answer. I found a 1998 Yamaha 40 HP Jet Drive motor with a propped foot on it for sale. I've never dealt with Jet drives and that's fine, seeing how this one doesn't have one on it. But is it a good idea to have a this foot on a jet drive motor. I think the only thing that makes this different from any other 40 HP Yamaha is the "Jet Drive" stickers on it? Correct?
Will it perform better with this on it, speed wise and what not? This is still considered a short shaft motor??

He is asking $2599 for this motor....
Is it worth that? I was thinking more along the lines of $2000 or so.
Thanks in advance for ya'lls help.

provided it fit on your transom you should measure the length of the engine and make sure it matches with your boat.

You will see about 30% increase in speed vs OB Jet.
