  • engine cut out at speed, now no start

    Yamaha V150 TLRZ- 800 hours

Ran engine at cruise (4200) for a few minutes and then idled for 15 before turning off. Went to start after 10-minutes and cranked with no start, checked primer bulb not very firm but still not sucked flat. Primed bulb and engine started with lots of smoke.

Ran engine for a couple of more hours while starting and stopping several times. One time it lost some power when running at 4800 for a couple of minutes, pumped bulb like last time and ran good at cruise. Later in the day decided to run WOT for last few miles to the dock when engine started losing power. Slowed off plane to check primer bulb and engine died at idle and would not start again.

After trying to crank there was oily fuel coming out of hub to waters surface. Got a tow back in and checked with mechanic- will be at least two weeks before looking at it.

I'm curious to see if anyone has any suggestions to what I could check so I can get going sooner.

Check fuel pumps, may have ruptured diagram in fuel pump.
